With the average Brit owning five or more credit cards and using them to juggle their way through the credit crunch it's no surprise that financial experts are urging them to get their debt under control. We have recently seen signs that banks are starting to clamp down on credit card borrowing. Just a few months ago there were reports that Egg had written to 161,000 of its "risky" customers warning them that their credit cards would be frozen within 35 days.
